Founded in 2001, The Edmonton Disc Golf Association (EDGA) is a volunteer-based organization that is dedicated to promoting and creating opportunities & activities for the public to discover and enjoy the sport of disc golf in Edmonton and it’s surrounding communities.
President: Wally Ovalle
Wally first tried the sport of disc golf in the spring of 2002 and later that same year he took part in my first tournament ever (The River City Cup) and was immediately hooked, not only by the sport itself but by all the amazing people who played the game. Wally started serving EDGA by running Sunday Doubles in 2004 from there he took on the role of vice-president in 2007 and in 2008 he became President of the club and has held the position since.
Vice President: Shayne Bundus
Since being introduced to the sport of Disc Golf in 2005, Shayne, and his wife Alyson, have become almost a fixture of the Rundle Park Disc Golf Course. Known for having one of the better forehand shots in EDGA he’s always willing to let others in on the secret of a controlled and accurate forehand. The stars finally aligned for Shayne in 2010 as he was finally able to capture the 2010 River City Cup Amateur Championship after numerous attempts in previous years.
