Just talked to Wally. Doubles is on for 12:30 this Sunday May 25. Start time at the course is 12:30, car-pool leaving from Rundle at about 11:30.
The course is in great shape, very nice at this time of year with minimal bugs and mowed fairways still looking great from last year. If you haven't played the course yet, you'll love it - it really doesn't get any better than this.
Steve
PS - the City of Wetaskiwin plans to widen the fairways this year, but right now I don't foresee any problems finding discs etc. That's only an issue later in the season.

Good sunday morning golfers, I just checked the weather for today and I am not sure if anyone wants to still go to Peace hills to golf or not. I will call Waly shortly and see if he has plans to still go or if we should bump it to next sunday. I am flexable and will go along with what everybody else wants to do. I think if we don't go we still might want to do rundle if it's not pouring out.

I just got off the phone with Wally and after phoning around he determined that few if any golfers are willing to go to peace hills because it is too shitty out. I guess that next sunday will be at peace hills instead of today. Today I will still be at Rundle at 11:00 if anybody still feels up to a round. Sorry if this change causes problems for anyone. Rick.

Good Morning golfers, I think golf today will be awesome and I look forward at getting revenge on the Peace hills course. I don't see any reason for starting golf later than 11 am. I will be down at Rundle at 9:30 and will ph the members who.s numbers I have to let them know. The high is going to be about 30c so we should start as early as possible. I am unsure but I think that there is a portapotty at the park all the time. Steve would know for sure. I hope that there will be a great turn out and that this will give the edge on the out of towners in the doubles tourny. call me at 780 478 3701 if anyone needs a ride today. Rick

Due to low turnout, doubles in Wetaskiwin will be cancelled, regular doubles at Rundle will take place instead, if there are some people interested in attending.

Just a thought - but could it be clarified if people are supposed to meet at rundle before going to wetaskiwin? there were 5 of us at wetaskiwin waiting around... it might also be nice if the tee off times were not changed the morning of.

Ditto - changing a league start time the morning of is quite a bit less than cool. Deciding not to come at the last moment (which left 5 of us hanging around waiting) also isn't cool.

There was only 3 people at Rundle as far as I am aware. It wasn't until the Wetaskiwin trip was canceled and others were told this; that 3 additional people showed up. Keep in mind that this is a long weekend for many (i know not all) and basically none of my friends and disc golf buddies are in town as they are all out camping, visiting, etc.
I don't think the results of this weekend should be any indication of actual turnout unless the previous outing there was poor as well. Might again be tough to get people to man up for the next last weekend of a month as Drumheller is the very next weekend.

If the numbers are a bit down due to RCC and Lost Egg, so be it, but lets keep this going. The course here is beautiful at this time of year, so I hope to see more people out this time.

See ya'll on June 1st here in sunny Wetaskiwin then. Rick, to give everyone time to travel/eat, how about starting at 1 pm?
Steve
Anyone got room for me this sunday?
Matt (the new guy)
Just to make sure everyone knows then - start time on Sunday is NOON. (so, 12:30 frisbee time ;-)
Local media will be covering the Night Owl, so I hope to see a great turnout to generate lots of local excitement.
Steve
Are we still SOL on bathroom type facilities at that park? Its a 10 minute drive into town and what not.
