Where can I buy discs?

By far the most common questions that are asked by potential players and casual observers are:

  • What kind of discs should I buy?
  • Where can I buy them?
  • How much do they cost?

The easiest answer is typically that you can pretty much use any Frisbee that you can buy at most department stores like Wal-Mart or Canadian Tire for just a few bucks.  However if you want to pick up professional quality and approved discs like the members of EDGA use those are a little harder to find.  Luckily there are a couple of local Edmonton options for your Disc Golf needs.

The ACT center, which is large building to the left, on the way to the Rundle Park Course carries a select number of discs that typically run in the $15 - $25 range but the choices are rather limited.  The better option is to look for Wallywonka Disc Golf Supply at most league functions and tournaments.  Wally is not only the EDGA President but the leader in Disc Golf Supplies for the Edmonton area.  He carries a much larger selection of discs at competitive prices and is always willing to share his knowledge and help you get what you are looking for.  If for some reason Wally doesn't have that special item he is more than willing to track it down for you.

There are also a number of online stores that can be found and most members of EDGA will gladly let you know who and where from they purchased their discs, bags and other attire if asked politely and after they throw ;)
