The Park 96 Disc Golf Course was officially opened in May 2003. It has the distinction of being the first private community course ever opened in Calgary. The baskets, signage and course development were entirely funded by the community of Parkland for use by its residents and guests. It is surely the best course that Calgary has ever seen, and is introducing the sport to a wide spectrum of people. It is now played by a great age range and has many families participating.
